A Warm Brand for a Cafe and Restaurant: CafeTower | TTGC
Building a brand identity that feels as inviting as the room it represents.

Most of a cafe brand gets seen up close. A cup in your hand, a menu on the table, a sign above the door. We designed the CafeTower identity for those everyday surfaces first, because that is usually where an identity falls apart. If the name holds its warmth there, the feeling of the room travels with it.
The challenge
CafeTower is a cafe and restaurant, so the identity had two jobs at once. It had to read as warm on sight, before anyone reads a single word. It also had to survive conditions that flatter nothing. A sign competes with daylight and distance. A menu sits under low indoor lighting. A small screen shrinks everything and adds glare. A mark that only looks good on a designer's monitor would fail all three.
Our approach
We settled on the mood before we drew a single line. Three words led the work: welcoming, relaxed, and cared for. Every option we explored had to pass that test before it went any further. A shape that felt clever but cold was out. A shape that felt warm but forgettable was rejected as well. What survived was a look with an opinion behind it, not just a pleasant shape. Simple enough to work anywhere, and distinctive enough to remember.
What we built
- A brand identity built on the CafeTower name. The warmth comes from the name itself, and not from decoration on top.
- A logo and mark checked at the sizes that usually break a mark: a storefront across the street, a cup held in one hand, a phone at arm's length.
- A color and type system made for long looks rather than quick glances. Calm tones, and lettering that stays legible on a menu indoors or a sign across the street.
- Brand guidelines written for the people who use them every day. Staff posting a photo, a printer laying out a menu, a signmaker sizing the logo. Everything should still look like one place when we are not in the room.
The outcome
CafeTower came away with one warm identity that behaves the same everywhere. The sign, the menu, and the phone screen all pull in the same direction. Repetition like that is how a place becomes easy to recognize. That was the goal the whole system was built around.
