Helping Patients Preview a New Smile: Nuvia | TTGC

Nuvia Dental Implant Center brought us a problem most brand work never meets. A patient has to decide about surgery while the result is still out of sight. We built after-surgery smile simulations. They let a patient see a possible new smile before they choose. The picture was the easy part. The real work was drawing the line between helping and selling.

The challenge

You cannot picture a face you have never had. A dentist can explain the treatment plan clearly and still leave the patient guessing. The words land in the ear, but the worry sits in the mirror. That gap is where people hesitate. Nuvia wanted to close it honestly, without overselling, which is a narrow path in a medical setting. Show too little and the patient remains uncertain. Show too much and you have made a promise nobody can guarantee.

Our approach

One question decided every choice here. Does this help the patient think, or does it push them? A simulation persuades on its own, so restraint became the real craft. The image shows a possible result, and the words around it say exactly that. We kept the tone calm rather than triumphant. A big reveal belongs in advertising. This one sits in a consult room, next to a real medical decision. It had to feel steady rather than exciting.

What we built

- A preview of a possible new smile after surgery. We made it for a single patient to study up close.

- A shift in the conversation. The plan stops being words and becomes an image the patient can react to and question.

- Plain framing around it: this is a possible result, not a guarantee. That is there to protect the patient first, and the practice with them.

- A shared object for the consult, so the patient has something concrete to point at while they ask the hardest question.

The outcome

Here is the honest version. We cannot sit in the consult room and measure what changed. What we can say is that the conversation now opens with something visible. A patient can look at a possible version of their smile, ask about it, and name what worries them. That can make a large decision feel less abstract, and a little more within reach. The preview also keeps its own limits in plain view, which was the entire design intent. It points at a direction rather than a promised result. Nuvia gets a warm and honest way to open the conversation, and the last word still belongs to the patient and their clinician.
