My Heart Beats in Iloilo: Redesigning the Heart of a City
Commissioned by the Mayor of Iloilo City — a logo redesign that captures the spirit of festivals, tranquility, and the heartbeat of a hometown.

The Story
2023was a year full of blessings for TTGC. The studio won awards across several countries. Its founders traveled to accept the honors while running big projects. Through the busy schedule, they missed everything they love about Iloilo, their hometown. Then the Mayor invited them into a city branding project to create a new logo. The invitation was shared in a Philippine News Agency article by Perla Lena. For the founders, the work became deeply personal.
The TTGC founders were grateful to the Mayor for the chance to create something for their hometown.
The Design
Keeping the Heart
TTGC studied the original logo first. The team kept the heart shape that stands for unity. Diverse elements and colors come together into one heart. It reflects the city's spirit. Iloilo blends lively festivals with calm, quiet moments.
The Elements
A bike sits among the greenery. It marks the city's calm side as the "Most Bike-Friendly City" in the Philippines. Iloilo has beautiful parks and a cycling culture that shapes its character.
The Dinagyang Festival is the biggest festival in Iloilo City. People come from across the Philippines and around the world to join it. Its bright energy and movement live in the flowing forms.
The Iloilo Paraw Regatta Festival captures the smooth flow and thrill of the yearly sailboat race. It carries the feel of the ocean breeze.
The City
Iloilo is a city of contrasts. Old heritage buildings stand next to new towers. The world-famous La Paz Batchoy warms the soul. Every January, the Dinagyang Festival fills the streets with color and energy.
Logo Applications
The heart mark was built to work across every medium. It fits festival backdrops and city signage. It even works as something as personal as a tattoo. In each form, it stands for hometown pride.
The Reception
The redesigned logo drew a warm response. The public welcomed it, and so did the design community. It mirrors the heartbeat of Iloilo, a city that is both lively and calm. It won over Ilonggos and the visitors who see the city's beauty.
It was an honor for the team to help shape how the beloved city looks to the world. As the logo finds its place, may it mirror the heartbeat of Iloilo. The city is both lively and calm. It captures the hearts of Ilonggos and the people who witness its beauty.
